During the 12th and 13th centuries, the local congregation prospered and built a Gothic church dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. But this one was destroyed by the Hussites in 1421. It was only remodeled in 1699-1700, in Baroque Gothic style, by the master of the genre, J.-B. Santini. It is one of the first examples of the mixture of these two styles and a visit to the interior is a must. Inside, the beautiful ribbed vault is particularly noteworthy.
