LE QUARANTE-NEUF
Majestic building with terrace offering meats, fish, vegetables and desserts.
Don't miss this porch at the entrance to Bayeux. You will discover a majestic building and be welcomed by Celine and Christophe. Regular customers come several times a week for lunch or dinner: from one day to the next, the plate changes colour and taste. Each meal has its surprises in store, born of the treasures found in neighbouring producers. One day, the calf's foot meets the lentils; another day, the heart of rumsteak goes to the risotto of small spelt and pearly vegetables; yet another day the chicken breast turns into a tagine. And since we are a few kilometres from the coast, fish and shellfish swim to the table, cod, sea bream, turbot, scallops, shells and mussels, each accompanied by delicacies from the garden of the neighbouring market gardener: celery, green beans, chervil, parsnips, radishes, courgettes, carrots, tomatoes, mint... As a starter, we love the salmon of the "Saumonier de Bayeux" and the homemade terrine; for dessert, melt for the delicious melt-in-the-mouth apple tart of Sommervieu, the trio of profiteroles... You will tell us about your discoveries, since it changes every day. If you hang around a bit, the meal can be extended around a small digestive, on the terrace or in front of the fireplace, in a setting as sober as the place is soothing. There are even two nice rooms for those who would like to stay overnight.
