On the safety front, for the more anxious, you should know that Djibouti has a fully operational decompression chamber at the French military base. Approved diving clubs, such as Dolphin Excursions, can access it 24/7 all year round, in case of emergency. That said, dives are strictly supervised and comply with all safety regulations.
