MUSEO ARCHEOLOGICO DI TORCELLO
Museum composed of an archaeological section as well as a medieval and modern section with sculptures and paintings.
This charming museum, inaugurated in 1870, is divided into two parts: an archaeological section and a section focused on the Middle Ages and Renaissance. The first section exhibits the remains discovered in Torcello and the neighboring islands between the Paleolithic and the Roman period (capitals, pegs and fragments of mosaics from the basilica). The second room houses a collection of sculptures and paintings dating back to the 17th century, including a beautiful 15th century pietà.
