Large central boulevard with shops, restaurants and several beautiful churches.
This is the main boulevard around which the city is built. It is lined with arcades that house shops and restaurants. Several churches also surround it. There is the Cathedral of San Francesco, with a ceiling of remarkable frescoes. The church of San Giacomo is filled with moving ex-votos of fishermen, while the church of Sant'Andrea is distinguished by its Romanesque campanile with a square base. Corso del Popolo leads to Piazzetta Vigo, dominated by the figure of a winged lion where a stone bridge (1685) spans the canal.
