ACCADEMIA DEI CONCORDI
The city's main cultural institution, the creation of the Accademia dates back to 1580 by Count Gaspare Campo, who wanted to bring together the men of letters and scientists at the time. Their perennial intellectual activity led the body to expand its area of discussion in agrarian sciences, in particular to resolve the difficult issue of spatial planning of the Po Delta. The attribute "dei Concordi" was chosen to highlight the great harmony between the members of the Academy and their constant unanimous decisions. Today, this institution, which sits in a beautiful building built between the th and th centuries, continues to be a major cultural pole in Rovigo, with a remarkable library. And if the Accademia itself is only visiting conferences or cultural events, its important collection of paintings is now displayed at Palazzo Roverella.
