DUOMO DI TREVISO
Roman style cathedral with a small museum of sacred art preserving beautiful religious objects.
The cathedral dedicated to St. Peter stands on foundations dating back to the 3rd and 4th centuries. Originally built in Roman style, it was completely demolished and then rebuilt in neoclassical style in the mid-18th century. The neoclassical pronaos with six columns that characterizes the current facade dates from 1836. Inside, consider visiting the crypt, famous for its mosaics of the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. The most precious work is an Annunciation by Titian. A small museum of sacred art (free) preserves beautiful religious objects.
