FONTANA DELLE TETTE
An original fountain not far from Piazza dei Signori in Treviso.
Even with the GPS, it is not always easy to locate it. The most unlikely of the Treviso statues is in fact in the heart of a charming patio, two meters upstream from a fashion sign. The Fontana delle Tette was built in 1559. It was commissioned by the mayor of the time, who had it installed in the heart of the Praetorian Palace. Sculpted in marble, it represents a topless woman. The story goes that for 200 years, during the great popular festivities, white and red wine flowed from her nipples at will.
