PIAZZA DEI SIGNORI
Square lined with remarkable palaces, the heart of Treviso.
This is Treviso's nerve center, its inhabitants' favorite meeting place. Constantly bustling, the Piazza dei Signori is bounded on the west by the Palazzo del Podestà and on the north by the Palazzo della Signoria. The latter is the current seat of the Prefecture. It is housed in the former 13th-century Palazzo Comunale, which was restored following its demolition in 1874. To the east, the piazza is surrounded by the Palazzo dei Trecento. The south side is bounded by Via Calmaggiore, Treviso's main street, and the sumptuous mansions overlooking it.
