DUOMO
Cathedral exposing a beautiful collection of paintings by Veronese.
A neoclassical building designed by Francesco Maria Preti in 1723, Castelfranco's cathedral, dedicated to Santa Maria Assunta, features a 19th-century facade refurbished in 1893. A visit inside reveals aSaint Sebastian by Palma il Giovane. The sacristy is worth a visit to admire a fine collection of paintings, including fragments of frescoes by Veronese. The figures of Temperance, Justice, Time and Fame, originally created to decorate a patrician villa, are elegantly harmonious.
