DUOMO DI VICENZA
A remarkable cathedral with a Renaissance chevet in Vicenza.
Built in the 15th and 16th centuries by Lorenzo da Bologna, the cathedral of Vicenza surprises by its beautiful volumes. With a Renaissance chevet, it has a beautiful gothic two-tone facade topped by a turquoise dome by Andrea Palladio. One can also admire the monumental bronze entrance door. It is decorated with scenes representing the life and passion of Christ. The Duomo also houses a polyptych by Lorenzo Veneziano illustrating the Dormition of the Virgin, a masterpiece dated 1366.
