Sanctuary testifying to the devotion of the people of Vicenza to the Virgin, with the Last Supper of St. Gregory the Great in the sacristy.

Built in 1428 following two apparitions of the Virgin Mary during the plague, the sanctuary bears witness to the devotion of the people of Vicenza to the Madonna over the centuries, through countless donations of ex-votos. A long covered gallery leads to it from the bottom of the hill. In the sacristy, don't missthe Last Supper of St. Gregory the Great, by Veronese. Situated at 124 meters above sea level, the site has a superb view of Vicenza and its surroundings.

the sanctuary is famous for its Madonna rules that has been in the exact place of its views. The building has been restored and Re-builtmany times and the guide told custom that it does have also Palladio hand. Inside it is better to see the Veronese painting on the top of the altar. The best is, however, the view from the terrace just outside where you can see Vicenza and all the mountains ahere the first world war was fighted. In fact the public garden is named piazza della vittoria to celebrate the victory of Italy in the first world war. There is also a monument to the austrian soldiers who died during the war.
