Juliette's house which presents thousands of small words of love written and engraved on its walls.

Legend has it that this is the balcony of Shakespeare's heroine. However, Romeo and Juliet are invented characters and Shakespeare never set foot in Verona! And above all, the story of the lovers from which he drew his inspiration comes in reality from a text by Luigi Da Porto, an author from Vicenza who set the action in Montecchio-Maggiore and not in Verona... Nevertheless, millions of visitors and broken hearts gather every year under Juliet's windows. Tradition has it that the house, known as del Cappello ("hat" in Italian - you will see one carved on the pediment of the building), belonged in the 13th century to the dal Cappello or Capuleti family, whose most bitter enemy was the Monticoli or Montecchi. It was only in the 19th century that it was recognized as the residence of Juliet. The visit to the house, restored between 1930 and 1940, is only interesting for its famous balcony from which you can play Romeo and Juliet for a few moments. On the way back down, you can also spend some time reading the thousands of love words written and engraved on the walls by visitors. At the end of the courtyard (free access), the superstitious will not fail to put their hand on the right breast of the statue of Juliet, lucky love, but they will have to be patient and wait for the right opportunity to pose with their heroine.

There are dozens of balcony with Verona, are all worth of Giuletta but veiled, the romantic history influences the imagination of visitors. Many people, normal. Not to go in Verona only for this small square...
