Here's an activity you won't soon forget (and neither will your wallet, that's true)! Although the project began in 2004, it was only implemented in the summer of 2012, given the scale of the infrastructure. Just 30 minutes from Reykjavík, you'll descend into the extinct heart of the 120-metre-deep Thrihnukagigur volcano using a metal gondola. A vertiginous descent that begins and ends with a 45-minute walk. Although not a sporting activity, this outing requires a minimum of physical effort and appropriate equipment in case of bad weather.
