LAXNESS MUSEUM (GLJÚFRASTEINN)
House that houses an exhibition that will delight readers of the great Icelandic writer Halldor Laxness
This house in Mosfellsbær, a rapidly growing town on the northeastern outskirts of Reykjavík, was the home of Halldór Laxness, the writer who won the Nobel Prize for literature in 1955. The simple building is surprisingly small. It houses an exhibition that will delight readers of the great Icelandic writer. Audioguides are available. The museum, a little outside the town, on the road to Þingvellir, is well indicated.
