ÁRBÆR OPEN-AIR MUSEUM (ÁRBÆJARSAFNI)
Picturesque open-air museum, allowing to imagine the daily life of Icelanders a few decades ago in Reykjavik
Slightly off-centre, this open-air museum is nevertheless worth a visit! In Árbær, where 27 buildings (from 1820 to 1907) recovered from all over Iceland were reconstructed, this museum looks like a small village with its houses, its church and its peat farm. In the workshops, one finds old Icelandic trades. Very pleasant, this picturesque museum makes it possible to imagine the daily newspaper of Icelanders a few tens of years ago.
