SIGURJÓN ÓLAFSSON MUSEUM
Small museum a little far from everything, but close to the sea, exhibiting abstract sculptures in stone, bronze or wood
In this small museum, a little bit far from everything, but very close to the sea, are exhibited the abstract sculptures in stone, bronze or wood of this famous Icelandic artist (1908-1982). Sigurjón Ólafsson, who died in 1982, studied and worked in Denmark until the 1930s/1940s, when he became successful. He did not return to Iceland until 1945, but left his mark on the country. Concerts and temporary exhibitions are frequently held at the museum. The name of the museum in Icelandic is "Listasafn Sigurjóns Ólafssonar".
