SKOLAVÖRÐUSTIGUR
A pleasant and colorful axis lined with some nice houses and many art galleries in Reykjavik
This long sloping street connects Laugavegur to Hallgrímskirkja church. It is a pleasant and colourful street, lined with some nice houses and many art galleries. It is characterized by the rainbow painted at its entrance on a large portion of the street. Initially produced in a short-lived way on the occasion of the Reykjavik Pride which celebrates the LGBTQ community, it was made permanent in 2019. Each inhabitant had the opportunity to participate in this collective work, even the mayor could add his layer of paint!
