HAFNARFJÖRÐUR MUSEUM
Museum about local history to see a collection of old toys in Hafnarfjordur
This museum of local history is housed in several different buildings. In Pakkhúsið, you can see a collection of antique toys. Sivertsenhúsið (Vesturgata 6) is the oldest house in Hafnarfjörður (1803). It belonged to Bjarni Sívertsen, nicknamed the "knight" or "father of Hafnarfjörður". Now restored, it is a fine example of 19th-century middle-class living. Finally, in Siggubær (Kirkjuvegur 10) you'll find the typical house of a 20th-century Icelandic fishing family. Take a look at the bonsai garden next door.
