NATURE CENTER
Little known place with an exhibition that allows to learn more about the local fauna and Jean-Baptiste Charcot
Here is a place still too little known located only a few minutes by car from the airport of Keflavik. In a long and low building, an exhibition allows you to learn more about the local fauna and about Jean-Baptiste Charcot who perished when the Pourquoi Pas ? sank in Icelandic waters in 1936 after having crossed the path of a hurricane. This shipwreck was of international importance, and resulted in the death of the entire crew, except for the helmsman Gonidec who managed to reach the coast after hours of struggle.
