Visitor Center offering an opportunity to view exhibits, with wide paths to explore the historic site
The Visitor Center is located just off Highway 36. It is the most convenient access point to the site. The site has an exhibition called Heart of Iceland and a multimedia program explaining the movements of the earth's plates in a very clear way, ideal for family visits. An outside platform allows to embrace a vast panorama (church, lake of Þingvallavatn, fault of Almannagjá, surrounding mountains...). Wide paths allow to discover this historical and geological site of foreground.
