We barely wanted to go in….
Food and wine was awful. Service was to be desired. Left hungry and running to the car to avoid the smell.
I didn't give the 5th star because we went to celebrate my husband's birthday and I'd have appreciated to get sort of a greeting card or something to make the event special, knowing the high price you have to pay for eating here.
I won't go back because honestly would have been appreciated to take into account of these kind of details regarding the service.
We had the icelandic meat & cheese share plater. Few nuts & crackers, tasteless cheese, some horrible raw smoked lamb meat, cured horse was good though.
Then the main, smoked cod. Oh my.. I'm still wondering how they cooked the fish because that was one of the weirdest fish I ever had. Tasteless, weird texture, I could have eaten plastic, I won't be able to tell the difference.
I ran as soon as I finished.
Meat and cheese board was good, the lamb was extremely smokey, even for smoked meat. All the cheeses were excellent.
I had the lamb entree and my wife had the duck and both were fantastic.
They have Viking gear available for you to try on if you’d like and the restrooms were very clean and well kept.
When we come back to Iceland and find ourselves in the area we will definitely be back.
Service was lacking. It wasn't busy when we went and took the staff about 10 minutes to greet us and an additional 5 minutes to seat us, even though we had a reservation and there were at least 15 empty tables.
The food was good. A really great place to try Icelandic lamb!
They were outside being reckless.
We offered to pay for little we had consumed so far but the owner told us we didn't have to. He apologized but didn't think they were responsible for the men's behavior. We said that they shouldn't have served them more beer and should have made them leave.
As we left, he followed us outside to range where the
Men were beating the target with something and he spoke to them... but we left.
I think that the food and atmosphere would have made for a special evening.....
This is something that can be monitored better for the good experiences of everyone.
Fortunately, the lamb was absolutely delicious! I don’t have a lot of experience with lamb, but I’m willing to bet that future meals won’t compare to this one. It was so good that we also decided we must try dessert. I got the banana bread, which was kind of a let down.
Overall, I’m glad we came here. The staff is very friendly. I just wish they would have told us more about the place. Apparently they had some Viking gear that you could put on and take photos? Not sure if that’s true, because no one said.
Everything was delicious.
You can also buy a horn to take home.
Easily the best food in iceland. Yes it is expensive, but damn, that food is extraordinary. Highly recommend
We had the viking feast, and the steak with its sauce stood out as extra delicious. But everything was really really good. Also loved the bread and mead.
