HJÁLPARFOSS
The double waterfall of Hjalparfosss, framed by basaltic organs, joining a circular basin, on the south coast of Iceland
Located on Iceland's southern coast, north of the Hekla volcano, this magnificent waterfall is little heard of, probably because it's far from Route 1 (but accessible without a 4x4). The charm of Hjálparfoss lies in the fact that you'll have the chance to admire not one, but two waterfalls, which meet in a circular basin. They come from the same stream, but are separated by rock. The Hjálparfoss double cascade is framed by basalt organs, and a rainbow can often be seen on a clear day.
