GLUGGAFOSS
Nice little waterfall in Hvolsvollur, with a small cavity behind its water curtain allowing to see the waterfall from behind
Nice little waterfall that is usually overlooked by visitors. Like its big sister Seljalandsfoss, it has the particularity to shelter a small cavity behind its water curtain which allows to see the waterfall from behind. Beware the small path can be very slippery. 500 meters to the west of this waterfall, framed by walls of basalt, palagonite and tuff, is another one, Drifandi. At the foot of the latter, a very pleasant picnic area has been set up, in the middle of which stands a bust of the local poet Thorsteinn Erlingsson (1858-1914).
