Museum evoking the life in Iceland through different themes, and presenting several low houses with peat roofs
Special mention for this ecomuseum which looks like a flea market and revives Icelandic traditions. The museum gathers several rooms on different buildings, evoking life in Iceland through different themes (fishing, agriculture, education, music...) then presents several low houses with peat roofs, as they were built until the 19th century. Finally, a section has been added on transport and communication. Shop and café on site.

The museum and interesting for all slices untouched. To have time to visit it. This museum reflects the Icelandic traditions and lifestyle.
Very provided museum, which has small malicious instruments rich history. Special mention for the guide Hans- Martin which visits in German, English and French. Impeccable. The reconstructions of peat houses outside enrich the visit. Unmissable.
If there were only one museum to visit in Iceland, it is this museum. Very lively and interesting. Bring several hours...
