The Skiphellir cave in the cliffs east of the Kuabot farm, the boat house, located at Vik I Myrdal
In the cliffs to the east of Kuabot farm is a cave, Skiphellir ("the boat shelter"), which is aptly named as it was once used as a shelter for fishermen's boats (until 1600), when the sea reached under the cliffs. Following a gigantic eruption of the Krafla volcano in the 15th century, the coastline was pushed far out into the sea, making it unusable.
