STEAM ENGINE OF THE OLD LEROY FACTORY
A fabulous steam engine listed on the Inventaire supplémentaire des Monuments historiques (Supplementary Inventory of Historical Monuments)
Listed in the Inventaire supplémentaire des Monuments historiques, this steam engine was used to generate electricity for the Leroy factory, a manufacturer of cheese boxes. Presented at the 1889 Universal Exhibition, Georges Leroy bought it in 1906. A symbol of the industrial revolution, this treasure is now on display in the restored former factory. The wood chip dryer has been converted into a health center, and the boiler room has been transformed into a media library.
