ST. PETER'S CHURCH
Church constituting today a testimony of the different artistic currents that crossed the region in the ducal period.
This very bare church, classified as a Historical Monument since 1840 is the oldest in Touques when the city shone on the waters of the Pays d'Auge, with a major commercial port. It was in fact built in the 11th century and depended then on the bishops of Lisieux, before being partly amputated in the 17th century. Closed since 1791, it is today a testimony to the various artistic currents that crossed the region during the ducal period. Its lantern tower have the particularity of being octogonal. In addition, the fresco remains that can be seen on the vault of the choir are typical examples of Romanesque Norman painting. Today, many exhibitions and concerts are organized there.
