GILL STREAM
The creek, which flows peacefully through the town center, once separated the parishes of Saint-Pierre and Saint-Thomas
A stream that does not look like much, but which has seen a lot! In fact, the stream, which today crosses the city center peacefully, used to separate the parishes of Saint-Pierre and Saint-Thomas. These two parishes were rivals, on the side of Saint-Thomas of modest people, on the side of Saint-Pierre of rich notables. The creek was the scene of many confrontations. All along the stream, you will be able to admire the well-preserved wash houses: at the time, the washerwomen of the two camps did not wash their clothes together, separated by this famous stream.
