This trail of about 10 km goes up to Krafla through the foot of Mount Hlídarfjall (also known as Reykjahlíðarfjall). From the top of the mountain, we have a beautiful view of the surrounding area. Another road starts from Krafla south of Leirhnjúkur and joins the main road at the intersection of Námaskarð. It is pleasant to take for the variety of its landscapes, it takes several hours walking.
