Víti, "hell" is a perfectly circular crater filled with a green, milky, sulphurous and hot lake. It is located right next to the largest lake in Askja, Öskjuvatn. As well as being beautiful to photograph and admire, it's also a great place to relax in any season.
You can swim in its warm (between 22 and 30°C, in other words, perfect) and muddy water. Remember to bring a bathing suit! Be careful to reach it though, the ground is slippery, so don't come without hiking gear.
