The oldest house on the island, built by Jörundur Jonsson, who used wood from Norwegian ships
The oldest house on the island, it was built in 1885-1886 by Jörundur Jónsson, using wood from Norwegian ships beached on the island. Originally situated higher up, it was moved to its present location in 1917. A commemorative statue, however, stands in its original location. Inside, the small museum evokes Icelandic shark fishing with objects and documents. It also serves as an information center.
