CAPITULAR ROOM
A unique venue in Saint-Pierre-en-Auge, housing a permanent exhibition of works by Falaise painter André Lemaitre.
A testimony to the medieval abbey, this room has retained its early 13th-century appearance with its elegant row of columns in the centre and its decoration of tri-lobed arches on the walls. Since its restoration, it houses a permanent exhibition of works by the Falaisian painter André Lemaitre: twelve figures of illustrious Normans and a self-portrait. A unique place, to be visited during the opening hours of the tourist office.
