MEDIEVAL HALL
Huge hall built by the monks of the abbey, one of the jewels of medieval Norman heritage in Saint-Pierre-en-Auge.
Built by the abbey's monks in the 11th century and enlarged in the 16th century, this huge market hall is one of the jewels in Normandy's medieval heritage. Its imposing dimensions (70 meters long and 20 meters wide) make it one of the largest buildings of its type in France. Under its superb oak roof, it hosts numerous events, including the antique and second-hand goods fair on the first Sunday of every month, and the authentic Monday morning market. The building has been listed as a Monument Historique since 1889.
