Panels on the history of the mills and the district provide a better understanding of the industrial heritage of the Dives.
Located in the old Tanneries district, on the Dives canal, the washhouse and paddlewheels, restored in 2020, are the last vestiges of the tanning mills, a hydraulic mill used to grind oak bark for tanning hides. One of the wheels operates to drive a generator that produces lighting. Panels on the history of the mills and the area provide a better understanding of the industrial heritage of La Dives: the river rises in Gouffern-en-Auge, in the Orne department, and flows through Calvados.
