This little inn, in the heart of Villerville, is a mythical French film location, where "Le Singe en hiver" was filmed.
It's impossible to pass through Villerville without stopping in front of the legendary Cabaret Normand, the setting for Henri Verneuil's 1962 film Un singe en hiver. Film buffs and fans of the Belmondo - Gabin couple still come in droves to make the pilgrimage! The day after Bébel's death in 2021, the tributes were incalculable. It has to be said that little or nothing seems to have changed. Every All Saints' weekend, Villerville turns into Tigreville to celebrate the film's anniversary, and for the occasion the Cabaret Normand reopens its doors.
