This house, built on the site of the second medieval castle wall, was the governor’s residence in the century.
Built on the site of the second enclosure of the medieval castle, this house was, in the 13th century, the governor’s dwelling. Then the property lost its defensive functions to become a property of the aristocrat of Avranchine on the eve of the Revolution. In recent years, it belonged to the painter Albert Bergevin, whose works are kept in the museum. Two gardens can be visited: one connects the place to the Scriptorial, the second is decorated with a work of François Tilly.
