THE CHURCH OF ST. NICHOLAS
Beautiful building protected from the wind and tides, facing the sea at the end of the quay in Barfleur.
Take the time to view this church from several different angles. Often considered one of the most beautiful villages in France, Barfleur can also boast this title due to the location of its beautiful church, facing the sea at the end of the quay. Bordered by the beginnings of a fortification, this beautiful edifice is protected from the winds and tides. An association, "Les Amis de l’église" (Friends of the Church), is responsible for its protection and upkeep, which has earned it a place on the Inventaire supplémentaire des Monuments historiques (Supplementary Inventory of Historic Monuments).
