Path offering views of the beaches, cliff rocks, Hatainville dunes and Channel Islands.

The "sentier des Douaniers", which runs along the coast of the département, has a steeply sloping profile on the section between Carteret beach and the old church, and for good reason: it offers magnificent views of the beaches, the cliffs (a bird sanctuary for the common raven), the Hatainville dunes and the Channel Islands. This trail leads to the ruins of an old coastal artillery battery built in 1745 and in service until the mid-19th century.

I think that the customs paths of the sleeve are the only ones in France with being stayed in their wild state. Sentier des douaniers path cape Carteret a breathtaking view on one side on the beach supervised carteret, the exit of the port and the south coast until Portbail and on the other side the long and huge beach of the chapel and the dunes until Hatainville.
It is an exceptional place but the paths are very steep, you must pay attention with children and elderly.
