20 kilometers south of Pouembout, between the RT1 and the lagoon, there is an American memorial dedicated to the dead of the Second World War. It also marks the location of a former air base built during the Pacific War and offers beautiful views of the open sea. It is also a picnic area. Parking near the site. Recently, a photovoltaic power plant was erected in the middle of the Plain, which unfortunately spoils the landscape somewhat... An interesting but negligible site.
