THE VALLEY OF THE PAINTERS
Valley that inspired many artists, including the sculptor Jules Blachard, a place to walk where the Crapeux flows in Carolles
This wooded valley where the Crapeux River flows is a lovely place to walk, spanned by the viaduct of the Vallée des Peintres, which at the beginning of the century allowed the Granville-Sourdeval line train to cross via Avranches. This valley was named the Valley of the Painters because in the 1900s it inspired many artists, including sculptors Jules Blachard and Étienne Leroux, and painters Émile Dasdoize and Edmond De Bon. Two tours are proposed: one called "outside the walls" and the second "workshop tour". Wonderful!
