The Batterie du Roule allows you to discover a heritage listed as a Monument Historique (1995) in the manner of an explorer.

For several years now, the Exspen association has been offering the chance to explore the bowels of the Batterie du Roule, a site listed as a Historic Monument since 1995. Equipped with a helmet and headlamp, you’ll set out to discover a section of the fortifications dug out during the Second World War, and discover an incredible heritage in the manner of explorers, without any particular museology. You’ll be transported back to the time when these underground tunnels, equipped with cannons, were designed to protect Cherbourg’s large artificial harbour.

Visite intéressante cependant il est surprenant de devoir prouver une caution de 50€ et d’être contraint de ne même pas pouvoir toucher un mur en pierre… C’est bien le premier musée que je visite qui demande une preuve d’argent comme ceci. Quand il y a doute il n’y a pas de doutes ? Drôle de magouille.
