Patrick Pernel, a true potter, creates fountains, pots and "épis de couille", recreates antique pottery in stoneware and enamelled porcelain. He works the clay in a folk pottery style (throwing, modelling), but also uses enamel for more contemporary pieces (smoke-fired shapes). Some of the pieces are fired in a wood kiln, while others are fired in a gas kiln. The potter also masters the Japanese Raku Technique, which involves a two-stage firing process and results in unique cracked creations.
