PINTE BESSON
The city's oldest establishment, historic and gastronomic, to understand the essence of a "pinte" or bistro in Lausanne.
Did you know that a pint in 1780 was equivalent to 93 centilitres of wine? This unit of measurement gave its name to the site when its manager, on that date, opened his stall to sell his wine production. It's a unique, historic place, and one of the oldest in Lausanne, having never closed its doors since. The dark wood-panelled walls and bottle-butt windows must have witnessed many stories. Time has almost stood still. It serves excellent, traditional, local cuisine, including fondues... Reservations recommended.
