This church on the edge of Port-Bail harbor is a very old religious monument.
On the edge of the harbour of Port-Bail, the church of Notre-Dame is a very old religious monument. In 856, a monastery, whose foundations attest to the existence of Portbail in the 7th century, was destroyed by the Normans. Restored in 1026, it would be the origin of the church Notre-Dame, first monastic church, then parish church until 1909. Two chapels have been added to it: the 15th century chapel of Sainte-Barbe and the 16th century seigneurial chapel of Saint-Jacques. Visits are organized: contact the tourist office.
