ZAOUIA SIDI M'HAMED-CHERIF
Religious building in Algiers housing a mosque and a tomb revered by women wishing to become mothers.
At the crossroads of the streets Sidi M'Hamed Cherif and Frères-Bachara, Yacef-Mokrane and Fatah Brahim. The religious building houses a mosque and the tomb of the man who died in 1541. He was venerated by women who wanted to become mothers. The fountain, fixed in the wall outside the building, is decorated with tiles.
Appreciated by the painter Eugene Fromentin, this place of the kasbah which was for him the "last refuge of the Arab life" is also like the Fromentin crossroads.
