The national library on boulevard Frantz Fanon houses no less than ten million books, an electronic village..
Inaugurated in 1994, the Bibliothèque nationale d'Algérie du Hamma replaced the former library on boulevard Frantz Fanon. The latter, which had become inadequate, is now its annex. This imposing 13-storey building stores no fewer than 10 million books and houses four reading rooms, an electronic village, an audiovisual service, a children's library and a cultural activities service.
