This villa, once an artists' residence, has now been converted into the headquarters of the Agence algérienne pour le rayonnement culturel.
After a long period of abandonment and squatting, the Villa Abd El Latif is now the headquarters of the Agence algérienne pour le rayonnement culturel (AARC). This former djenane, an Ottoman-era summer residence, was requisitioned by the French army, which used it as a hospital for soldiers, before turning it into an artists' residence in 1907, following the example of the Villa Medici in Rome. Between 1907 and 1962, 97 painters and sculptors worked in the villa's five studios. Exhibitions and cultural events throughout the year.
