Palais de la laine located in the covered rue de l'Intendance, famous for its door under the magnificent carved cedar canopy.
Located in the covered Rue de l'Intendance, not far from Dar Mustapha Pacha, Dar Es-Souf, which means "wool palace", was a residence dedicated to the storage of wool from the surrounding tribes. Access to the house, built by Mustapha Pacha in 1798, is through a magnificent carved cedar canopy. As Mustapha Pacha was under threat, a secret passage linked the Dar Es-Souf palace to Dar Mustapha Pacha, and also provided access to the Ketchaoua mosque, where the dey was nevertheless assassinated by a janissary in 1805.
