Superbly restored park in Algiers featuring terraced gardens with staircases, aviaries and a pond.
The former Parc de Galland was inaugurated in 1915 by Charles de Galland, mayor of Algiers from 1910 to 1919 and principal of the Lycée de Ben Aknoun, who donated the magnificent grounds to the city. The park has been superbly restored, making it even more beautiful since 2018. Its terraced gardens interspersed with staircases, aviaries and pond made it one of Algiers' most popular strolling areas and one of the city's most elegant parks.
